Jem Demirbas joins EFI Global as project manager in new Kelowna, British Columbia, service location

KELOWNA, BC, Sept. 11, 2019  /InsPress/ – EFI Global, a full-service international consulting firm specializing in forensic engineering, environmental, fire investigation and specialty consulting services, has appointed Jem Demirbas to the role of project manager in its new office location in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Demirbas brings to EFI Global—a division of Sedgwick, a leading global provider of technology-enabled risk, benefits and integrated business solutions—over 10 years of experience in the emergency response and oil & gas sectors. His experience includes numerous projects involving various aspects of the environmental, industrial and oil & gas industries, including spill response, phase II environmental site assessments, plant turnarounds, fire rescue, daylighting and confined space entry and rescue.

Additionally, he has responded to spills involving trucks, rail, oil & gas plants, utility structures and steel mills, with remedial budgets in excess of $1 million. Chemicals of concern included acids, caustics and hydrocarbons.

Beyond his spill response expertise, Demirbas has extensive experience in fentanyl and carfentanil detection and remediation, from clandestine drug labs to stolen vehicle recoveries, which are emerging concerns in the insurance industry.
