Accident Support Services International Ltd., facilitators of collision reporting servicing the Insurance Industry and Police, is pleased to share news from the Greater Sudbury Police Service with respect to their new and enhanced system for collision reporting.

“The Greater Sudbury Police Service, in partnership with Accident Support Services International (ASSI), is pleased to announce that effective August 17, 2015 the citizens of Greater Sudbury are able to access a new and enhanced system for Collision Reporting.

In the case where 911 is contacted by those involved in a motor vehicle collision, a telephone transfer will be made to the Collision Reporting Centre Information Line for further assistance and direction for the involved drivers.

For those involved in a collision that does not require the attendance of the Police and wish to contact the Information Line directly, the phone number is 705-983-0994. It is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Persons who contact this number will receive guidance as to when they are required to attend the Collision Reporting Centre, and further a recorded message will outline the process involved in reporting a motor vehicle collision. All recorded messages will be in both French and English.

The Collision Reporting Centre provides both the police and the public with a more effective way of dealing with minor collisions that do not require an officer to attend the scene. The involved drivers will be instructed to bring their vehicles to the CRC to have their vehicle damages assessed and to have the collision report completed.”
