Roar Engineering Inc., an independently owned Canadian boutique forensic engineering firm, has added 2 senior forensic engineers to its team. Barry Kozluk, P.Eng. and Joseph Jakym, P.Eng. will form part of a multi disciplinary team of independent experts with proven court experience. We understand science and technology and our experience forms part of every engineering opinion we provide.


Barry has practiced professional structural engineering in the forensic engineering field since 1996. He has extensive experience establishing the cause of failures in structural concrete, steel framing and timber framing and investigating construction type failures related to large loss incidents. A substantial number of the incidents have involved some form of litigation where he has provided expert support, guidance and testimony in mediation, arbitration and court proceedings. Barry is a qualified expert in the provincial court of Ontario.

Joseph is partner at Roar Engineering and will be managing the accident reconstruction department. He has over 8 years of experience in the forensic engineering/accident reconstruction field. During this period of time, Joseph has been exposed to over 1000 accident reconstruction investigations, and has published an internationally recognized research article on pedestrian behaviour. He has qualified as an expert witness in the field of accident reconstruction at arbitration and court proceedings. Joseph’s honest approach to investigations has developed respect amongst his clients and peers throughout his career.
