Rochon Engineering Announces Appointment of Marijan (Mario) Smolej B.A.Sc., P.Eng. as Senior Forensic Engineer

Toronto, September 4, 2014 – As part of its expansion plans, Rochon Engineering has added a senior professional to its team. Doug Tremblay, Managing Partner, announced that the firm has appointed Marijan (Mario) Smolej as a Senior Forensic Engineer specializing in Accident Reconstruction.
Mario has 29 years of experience investigating and analyzing over 1,500 motor vehicle collisions in Canada and the United States for the insurance, legal, and trucking industries and municipalities.
Mario has been qualified as an expert witness in the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Arbitrations. He is a licensed professional engineer, a designated consulting engineer, and he serves as a member of many associations including The Society of Automotive Engineers and The Canadian Association of Technical Accident Investigators and Reconstructionists.
Mario’s collision reconstruction experience includes obtaining his mechanical engineering degree, receiving specialized training and continuous education, as well as participating in independent research and testing. He has experience with Vehicle Event Data Records (EDRs) and has been a Crash Data Recorder (CDR) user since the technology was introduced in 2000.
Mario is looking forward to working with the Rochon Accident Reconstruction Team including Jason Bayley, P.Eng. and Dr. Samuel Howarth.
