Toronto, Ontario, July 9, 2013 – As a devastated community deals with the aftermath of Saturday’s train explosion, The Guarantee Company of North America (The Guarantee) has donated $10,000 to the Lac-Mégantic fund through the Canadian Red Cross to provide meaningful help to those affected by this disaster.

“As a Canadian company, The Guarantee has always stepped up to support our customers and communities. By donating through the Canadian Red Cross we can help the town of Lac-Mégantic and those directly affected by this devastating accident – it’s the right thing to do,” said Marilyn Horrick, National VP for Guarantee GOLD®, The Guarantee.

Daniel Richard, VP & RGM Québec Region, The Guarantee added, “The Guarantee is committed to getting our customers’ lives back in order as quickly and smoothly as possible. We are working with our broker partners and together we ensured adjusters are on site and meeting with impacted customers to get the claims process started immediately.” Daniel continued, “Our thoughts are with the individuals and families in Lac-Mégantic.”

The Guarantee’s donation will be used to help meet the most critical needs of evacuees and support the Red Cross as it mobilizes volunteer teams and provides emergency services and supplies, including beds, blankets, and pillows.
