CRU Begins The Fire Response For BC Wildfires

July 19, 2017   by CRU Adjusters

The Catastrophe Response Unit of the CRU Group has begun deploying licensed, experienced fire loss adjusters to British Columbia to assist their carrier partners. Drawing on last year’s experience assisting six different insurance companies with Fort McMurray claims.  We are staging our support out of Kamloops and Wilson Lake after the area is reopened.

CRU Group President, Kyle Winston stated “We feel uniquely qualified with this event as we were heavily involved on the front lines in Fort. McMurray, and involved in the back end in-house processing of the fire claims.  We got to see all the successes and breakdowns with different processes. There were a lot of great ‘lessons learned’ and we have worked hard to ensure they could be implemented for future wildfire events. With the smaller claim counts in BC, it’s really nice to be able to bring back our best adjusters who are well versed in handling the nuances we expect to see.”

“We’ve spent the first six months of this year refining and building our company infrastructure to address both our US and Canadian growth in cat services contracts. With a new state-of-art claims management system that integrates with both XactAnalysis and Symbility Connect, we now have the ability to collect a whole lot more data, including carrier specific user defined fields to generate a whole new level of analytics related to the claims cycle.

Our AIA (Academy of Insurance Adjusting) division has held thirteen different training and certification classes this year that averaged 65 participants each. That’s more than 800 adjusters that we have impacted and bumped to a better skill level. We’re now averaging almost 5 experienced adjusters joining our company list and roster every single day. Our Kespry collaboration makes us first to market with a complete, licensed pilot operated, government approved commercial drone program and our new commercial structure adjusting team have put us in a great place to handle the increased challenges with insurance claims adjusting” said Skip McHardy, Director of CRU Cat Services.

He added “In Canada, no other IA firm provides adjusters solely allocated to one carrier for a complete event – who are not simultaneously trying to juggle a full load of daily claims back home. With a dedicated Cat Management group that has grown to 12 professionals, we’re staying in front of he expected needs of our clients”

Kyle Winston added, “We’re pleased with our growth, proud of the product and service level we consistently provide, and I’m excited about our team’s ability to keep up with the rapid changes in our industry. When we compare overall claims handling from the BC fires to Fort. McMurray, I know we will see a maturity in every level of the value our services offer to carriers.”
