Monday, September 20

Plenary session at 8:30am examining Swiss Air Flight 111 which crashed off the coast of Halifax, Nova Scotia. How did the government of Nova Scotia deal with this terrible tragedy and what lessons can be learned? Government personnel directly involved with the disaster will share their experiences.

The second plenary session, entitled Risk on the Rock is hosted by Rex Murphy, a CBC Television Commentator and host. Afternoon information sessions look at, among other topics, risk management in the 21st century, Y2K coverage and losses, trade credit insurance, and risk challenges from mergers and acquisitions.

Tuesday, September 21

Information sessions will examine, among other topics, avoiding on-the-job injuries, environmental management, workers compensation issues, alternative risk financing and business interruption insurance.

Wednesday, September 22

Morning plenary session will focus on international trade and Canada’s political future, as former federal minister John Crosbie addresses delegates on a variety of issues.
