The 21,000 square feet of raised floor space will house IBM mainframes, plus HP, Dell and Sun processors with large on-demand capacity. A sophisticated storage sub system will consist of virtual tape subsystems, IBM Shark and EMC DMX DASD. “The purpose of this strategic move is to support the continuing growth of data center infrastructure and management services provided by MFX, known as “SecureSource,” as well as provide existing customers with a second, high security data center that provides a robust infrastructure backup platform,” Graham Alexander, president of MFX, says. “Clients with advanced data needs and high-value transactions, such as those in the financial services industry, will now not only have the ability to back-up data in real time, but also the capability to balance work loads between two data sites for increased availability and enhanced performance. MFX’s strategically located data centers will enable customers to diversify their risk by utilizing either facility as a primary data center, or simply for back up purposes if located in those geographic areas.” The company, which provides technology and IT outsourcing solutions, has developed a highly secure, high performance facility with availability 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with services that are explained in further at www.mfxfairfax.com.
