Boomerang Tracking company has gained support for its vehicle tracking systems among 14 Ontario insurers. The system, which has already made inroads in the Quebec market, will be endorsed by national companies including The Guarantee Company and Economical, who will recommend its installation to owners of high-end and high-risk vehicles. Boomerang reports the device has led to the recovery of over $45 million in stolen assets, $6 million in the province of Ontario, to date.

Michelle Reeve recently received a $1,000 bursary sponsored by the Hamilton Insurance Field Reps Association, an annual award given to a student in the Insurance Program at Mohawk College. The award was presented by Joan Hobbs of AXA Insurance, one of the co-sponsors along with Boiler Inspection & Insurance, CGU, Dominion of Canada, Economical Insurance, Gerling Canada, Gore Mutual, Kemper, Pembridge Insurance, Wawanesa Mutual and York Fire Insurance.
