Scor Canada welcomes Henry Klecan Jr. to succeed Dominique Lavallee as president and CEO. Klecan was previously senior vice president of The Citadel Insurance Company. After 12 years in Scor’s North American offices, Lavallee heads to Paris, to lead the company’s Risk Management and Control Department.

Gary Gardner is returning to Crawford Adjusters Canada, to take the position of national sales manager. Gardner spent the past six years in the brokerage business.

The Centre for the Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) has hired Dorin Mascan as its national director, research and development. Mascan has been involved in automating Canada’s insurance industry since 1992, including work with Delphi Information Systems and CSIO.

The Insurance Crime Prevention Bureau has announced several appointments, including Earl Basse to the new position of vice president, rings and loss recoveries. Also, Richard Dubin has been named vice president, investigations. ICPB also named its slate of new directors: Jim Farquar (B.C.), Justin Murray (Atlantic), Glynn Edwards (Central West), Bill Cameron (Ontario), Andre Beauchamp (Montreal) and Joey Ouellet (Quebec City).
