The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) has named Anne Corbett as acting vice chair of FSCO and the Financial Services Tribunal. Corbett is a partner with law firm Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.

Hub International Ltd. has appointed Joseph P. Flanagan as president and CEO of its Chicago-based Mack and Parker brokerage unit. Also, Richard J. Palleschi is now president and CEO of The McCarthy Companies in Massachusetts.

CNA Canada has named Andy Hall to the new position of assistant vice president, western regional underwriting manager. Hall has worked with CNA since 1987 as branch manager for both Winnipeg and Calgary.

Technology vendor Castek Software Factory Inc. has appointed Peter Jones as president and CEO upon the retirement of Steve Carson. Jones has a long history in the technology industry, most recently as CEO of Personus. Carson will stay on as senior executive advisor.

Several changes have taken place at Royal & SunAlliance, including the appointment of Carol Jardine as vice president of personal insurance. Her former role as vice president of claims will be taken over by Irene Bianchi and Ed Sikorski will become vice president of marketing. Together, the three have more than 45 years experience at Royal.

Lloyd’s of London will have a new chairman when Sax Riley retires at the end of this year. Lord Peter Levene, formerly Lord Mayor of London, will take over, the first chairman selected from outside the market. He is currently vice chairman of Deutsche Bank London.

After 32 years, Alan Symons is retiring as president of Goran Capital, to start a new business solutions company. Taking over the top spot is Douglas Symons.
