Igal Mayer has been appointed board chairman of the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) for a two-year term. The Aviva Canada CEO is a chartered accountant, honorary CIP and graduate of the University of Toronto.

Crawford Adjusters Canada has named John Sharoun as COO, to assist CEO Glenn Gibson in implementing the firm’s three-year strategy. Sharoun has over 30 insurance industry experience, including founding his own adjusting firm, which was later bought by Adjusters Canada and then became part of Crawford in 1998. Crawford has also promoted Stephen Anderson to the position of senior vice president, with over 34 years in a variety of employee development and business operations roles. He joined Crawford in 1995 and will continue to be responsible for the firm’s human resources, professional development and CLAIMSAlert divisions.

Chubb Insurance Co. of Canada has named Paul Morrissette as manager of personal insurance, Canadian zone. Morrissette has 15 years experience with Chubb in various roles, most recently as vice president and underwriting center manager for Chubb’s U.S. east coast operations.
