The Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) has announced Christine Zahn has been named as the new director of events management and Mary Roth has been named to the newly created position of deputy executive director. Zahn, who joined RIMS in 1989 as a conference assistant, will oversee all planning aspects of the RIMS Annual Conference & Exhibition. Roth, who joined RIMS in 1985 and has served in roles such as assistant director of research and director of membership & chapter services, will oversee all of RIMS’s administrative and internal operations.

The Hartford Canada has announced the appointment of Gary Scarbeau to the position of senior vice president of underwriting. Scarbeau brings over 20 years experience in the commercial insurance industry to his post.

Federation Insurance Company of Canada has appointed D. Bruce Gale to the post of regional vice president for Ontario, W. Carson Thompson to the position of regional vice president for western Canada, and Ron Pavelack to the position of executive vice president. Gale joined Federation in 1993 as Branch Manager and was most recently Ontario regional manager. Thompson joined the same year and was most regional manager of Alberta and British Columbia. Pavelack has held various senior positions within the organization during his 22-year tenure.

Queensway Financial Holdings Limited has announced that David Rooney, chairman of the board, is leaving the company to pursue other business opportunities.

The Citadel General Assurance Company has announced the appointment of Henry Klecan Jr. to the position of senior vice president, field opeartions. Klecan will be responsible for the overall management of The Citadel’s field operations throughout Canada.
