TORONTO – September 1, 2016 – Jeremy H. King, Executive Vice President of King International Advisory Group (KIAG), is pleased to announce that Brian D. The members in attendance, representing 20 countries, selected Mr. King from a group of three nominees. The Council of International Investigators is made up of owners and executives from the top investigation and intelligence agencies, spanning over 56 countries worldwide. This is the second time Brian has won this award having been presented with it in 2003 in Kinsale, Ireland for his work with the Innocence Project.

CIILogoAt the Council’s Annual Meeting held in Edinburgh, Scotland in October 1976, The Association of British Investigators at the time personally delivered a trophy to the Council with the request that it be presented each year to a Council member who best exemplifies the high professional and moral standards of the Council.

Mr. King was chosen for the award primarily for his recent work on a highly involved Human Rights case that spanned three countries, including Eastern Canada, India and Nepal. His work included interviewing over 70 witnesses and victims of the notorious serial pedophile, Earnest Fenwick MacIntosh, who is currently serving a 7-year sentence in Nepal for sexual assault involving young children. In addition, Mr. King was recognized for his volunteer investigation work with First Nations people in the Yukon where he has spent considerable time working pro-bono on rather complex matters.

“For as long as I have known Brian, going on 25 years, he has always given back to the profession in his time, dedication, support.  His entire career has been a credit to the investigative field in what he has contributed and accomplished and he is truly deserving of this honour,” stated Steven Kirby, Executive Director of C.I.I. and two-time International Investigator of the Year award winner.

On hand in Sweden to receive the award on behalf of Brian King, Jeremy stated, “There is no greater honour in our profession than the International Investigator of the Year award, because it is recognized by our peers, the industry’s greatest investigators and agency owners. Despite starting a new agency in July 2015, Brian still prioritized dedicating valuable time to supporting organizations and individuals that otherwise do not have the necessary resources to do so themselves. Brian always makes himself available for groups such as the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted (AIDWYC) and the Innocence Project, in addition to the First Nation Peoples of Canada. I was very honoured and humbled to accept this award on Brian’s behalf, it is a true testament to his dedication and passion for the investigative industry.”
