CRU Adjusters, recently certified more than 310 property and auto adjusters to aid its recent expansion of services throughout North America. Based on specific carrier feedback, CRU now tests and quantifies an adjuster’s skill sets to best train and develop resources for each different deployment.

“As each insurance company develops different service expectations and processes, we are better at matching an adjuster’s systems and platform experience to their operation which provides quicker results in solving their claims challenges. Where we used to have 12 different areas of ranking our staff’s abilities, we now have 26 different key scores to facilitate putting the right person with the right company. This minimizes our client’s need for training and the learning curve needed to become efficient in everything from phone systems to claims diary protocol” said Mike Laberge, CRU Senior VP.

“Our format of annual seminars has shifted from 2 large two-day events in Canada and the US that included industry presentations, CE accreditation, entertainment and general sessions – held only in larger markets – to at least 10 one-day seminars designed to test and evaluate an adjuster’s strengths and weaknesses. With the growing complexity of P&C adjusting, too many people assume a person can easily master all the different aspects of this work. We continue to hear people minimize the expertise needed to correctly handle a claim. At our company, we see a major key of our success has been keeping our staff current with technology, efficient in a multitude of claims and operation platforms and, well equipped with the skills to manage the changing complexities of adjusting a loss.”

“We’ve also greatly expanded the reach of our training division, the Academy of Insurance Adjusting (AIA). That group now hits 4 cities in Canada and 4 cities in the states every 60 days. Jonathan Rice and Glenn Smith have created custom training classes to address every aspect of adjusting. In addition to all levels of Xactimate and XactAnalysis courses and estimating instructions, AIA offers classes to fill any gap in staff improvement. They have CE approved training for everything from ethics to Canadian Earthquake Adjusting.”

Kyle Winston, CRU President emphasises, “the evolution of claims processes will continue to happen at faster and faster rates. The operational disruptors are inevitable, and we will continue to invest in the development and professionalism of our adjusters to stay relevant and lead our industry with service solutions.”
