Mark Ram Joins The Guarantee Company of North Americas Board of Directors

TORONTO, ON, October 3, 2013 – The Guarantee Company of North America (The Guarantee) has appointed Mark Ram to its Board of Directors, effective October 2, 2013. Mark is the retired CEO of Northbridge Financial Corporation. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Markel Insurance Company, a Canadian insurer focused on the Transportation sector. Mark currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada, and is active on its strategic, development and research committees. 

Mark holds a B.A. from McGill University and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. In 2002, he was named as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40^TM, and in 2004, Business Insurance named Mark to their list of 40 Under 40 Worldwide People to Watch, the only Canadian-based executive on the list.
