Micheal Taillon has been named Aon Risk Solutions Canada’s new national practice leader of energy.

Taillon will use his three decades of experience in risk management and insurance to lead business development and provide oversight to the company’s energy practice, notes a statement from Aon. Although energy is a critical driver of economic growth in Canada, Taillon says, “it continues to be under immense scrutiny to manage a very broad spectrum of risks.”

Having joined Aon in January 2012, Taillon has worked with both insurers and brokers over the course of his career. He has gained international experience across a diverse range of sectors, including energy, mining, construction, manufacturing and technology. He previously worked for AIG in Houston and was involved in establishing AIG Energy.

At Aon Risk Solutions, Alison Miller will take on responsibilities as practice leader of national power and utilities in Canada. A 12-year veteran of Aon, Miller has managed large and technically complex risks in the utility, mining and energy sectors.

Miller will lead Aon’s team of experts in designing and implementing risk management strategies for power transmission and distribution companies of all sizes, including independent power producers. She will drive the development of proprietary insurance programs and collaborate with the global power practice.
