In celebration of its 20th anniversary on the New York Stock Exchange (AOC:NYSE), Aon Corporation has signed up to be a part of the People Helping People program, and has pledged to build a series of playgrounds across Canada.
While the initiative is a global one, in Canada the company partnered with PlayPower Inc. and local communities to build five playgrounds in Halifax, Sherbrooke, Thunder Bay, Grande Prairie and Victoria.
These events reflect the passion for service that defines our Aon culture of people helping people, Chris Fawcus, President and CEO of Aon Reed Stenhouse, said.
Aon has longstanding partnerships with communities across the country, they are the place we live and work and we feel that building these playgrounds gave us a great opportunity to share in the growth of these cities.
Volunteers from Aon Consulting and Aon Re came out on Earth Day weekend in Toronto to help plant trees and shrubs.
In Montreal volunteers served and prepared food, helped out at a toy drive and cleaned up community gardens.
Our events have brought Aon companies together in a way that has never happened before. Bob McLean, President and CEO of Aon Re Canada, said. We felt that this anniversary gave us a perfect opportunity to give back to some of the communities we have had the pleasure to serve.
