Applied Systems Inc. announced Thursday the general release of its MobileProducer software, which works on Apple’s iPad and on wireless devices running Google’s Android operating system.

In a press release, the University Park, Ill. vendor said MobileProducer lets users access client accounts, activities, contacts, prospective customers and insurance policy information.

They can also access e-mail and add activities to their agency or broker management systems, Applied Systems says. MobileProducer users can also use the global positioning system (GPS) to coordinate schedules and view customer locations on a map.

MobileProducer works over both WiFi networks and cellular networks using the third-generation (3G) and Long Term Evolution (LTE) standards and extracts the data from the broker management system.

The software integrates with Epic, Applied Systems’ agency management software which handles both benefits and property and casualty insurance. MobileProducer also works with Applied Systems’ The Agency Manager (TAM), designed for brokers and agents, which lets users view a customer’s file with all policies and carriers.

MobileProducer does not work with other broker management systems or with other vendors’ systems, an Applied Systems spokesperson wrote in an e-mail to Canadian Underwriter. Pricing is “based on an initial set-up fee and a monthly user fee that is charged per named user,” the spokesperson wrote.

Earlier this month, Applied Systems announced the general release of TAM version 12, which supports the new eDoc XML standard and has an improved French user interface.

MobileProducer is available for download both from Apple iTunes and Google Play.
