Robin Spencer has been appointed president and CEO of Aviva Canada Inc., effective July 12, 2007.
Spencer is currently the executive vice president and chief financial officer with Aviva Canada Inc.
Robins accomplishments, experience and ability to drive organizational success will be a real asset to the Aviva Canada team, said Tom Godlasky, chief executive of Aviva plcs new North American Region.
His tenure with the Aviva group gives him an insightful perspective on the business, he said, adding, his tenure with the Aviva group gives him an insightful perspective on the business.
Spencer will replace Igal Mayer, who has accepted the new role of chief executive for Norwich Union General Insurance.

Prior to his appointment as CFO and EVP at Aviva Canada in January, 2005, Spencer was global finance transformation director for Aviva plc.
Before that, he worked in group finance in London and held numerous senior financial roles with Norwich Union Insurance, and was finance director for London and Edinburgh, a subsidiary of Aviva, details an Aviva release.
