Aviva Canada launches new coverage for high-value possessions

After a successful debut in Ontario over the spring, the new Ovation program is now available in British Columbia and will come to the remaining provinces in the fall/winter of 2013 and early 2014.

Under the coverage, customers will have their own claims support number, which is directed to a team exclusively assigned to them 24 hours a day, according to Aviva.

“After hearing from brokers that there is a growing demand for a distinctive level of products and services for high-value items, we set out to design a product to suit that need,” said Maurice Tulloch, Aviva Canada President and CEO.

The coverage also can include features such as the option of a cash settlement, the ability to consult on a repair or service provider and no asset depreciation on damaged or destroyed items.

For auto coverage, Ovation customers are provided a courtesy vehicle that reflects what they’re accustomed to along with an optional driving record protection. The company’s leisure and lifestyle partners include Hagerty Canada for classic cars, Nautimax for high-value boats and the insurer’s sister company Aviva Elite for recreational vehicle coverage.

The product also includes loss prevention such as home inspections with written recommendations for ways to enhance the protection of the family and the home. Each policy also includes a mitigation provision that will supply the tools to prevent future claims and distress.

For brokers, Aviva’s underwriters are on standby to provide real-time underwriting and policy administration service.
