Insurance companies and independent adjusters have been deployed to handle claims caused by an F1 tornado that hit Leamington, Ontario on June 6.
RSA has its Emergency Claims Response Vehicle on scene in Leamington assisting customers with claims.
“Members of RSA’s claims team arrived in Leamington Sunday evening in the claims response vehicle – literally a mobile claims office – to help respond to the damages,” according to RSA.
“By 7 a.m. Monday morning, RSA was the only insurer on the scene with our property staff adjuster evaluating the worst-hit neighbourhood,” the company reports.
Aviva, State Farm and Gore Mutual were all on the scene to help residents in the wake of the claim.
While still too early to full assess the situation, RSA anticipates damages in the area will range widely, “from minor to total losses.”
Meanwhile, Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. has mobilized members of its catastrophe team to handle losses in the town. The rest of the catastrophe team is on standby.
“We are monitoring the situation closely,” said CEO John Sharoun.
“Our branch office in Windsor is being supported by a number of catastrophe professionals to ensure we deliver superior service to the area’s residents and businesses during this difficult time.”
