CUMIS group welcomes new CEO

The CUMIS Group Ltd., recently appointed Kenneth W. Lalonde as president and CEO for the CUMIS Group of Companies, and venture manager of the Credit Union Insurance Services (CUIS) program, effective June 5, 2006.
Lalonde offers experience as an executive in the financial
services industry. Most recently, Lalonde held the
position of executive vice president of branch and small business banking at CIBC. In this position, he was responsible for more than 14,000 employees working within the bank’s 1,100 branches. In addition, Lalonde was held accountable for the automated banking machine distribution channel.
Lalonde also held the position of president and CEO of CIBC Insurance Company Management Ltd. Prior to joining CIBC, Lalonde spent 10 years in the consumer packaged goods industry working with Shulton Inc. and Beecham Canada
Inc. in various senior leadership roles.
Lalonde is a board director of the Toronto International Film Festival Group and is past chair and director of the advisory board for Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto.
He has also dedicated his time to a number of other charitable organizations including working with the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter and serving as cabinet industry lead for the United Way of Calgary.
The CUMIS Group markets insurance and financial products and other services to Canadian credit unions, caisses
populaires, other financial co-operatives, independent insurance brokerages, and their members.
