David Williams to manage Chubb specialty lines

David Williams has been appointed vice president, manager of Chubb Specialty Insurance, Canadian zone. Effective immediately, he will oversee policy development, sales and marketing and underwriting activities for all of the Chubb Insurance Company of Canada’s specialty insurance products across Canada.
“Chubb prides itself on offering the most comprehensive, uniquely tailored insurance products available, many stemming from our specialty insurance practice,” Ellen Moore, CEO of Chubb Insurance Company of Canada, said in a press release. “As a result, David’s is a particularly important and challenging role. I’m delighted to have him aboard.”
Williams joined Chubb in 1985 as an underwriter in Boston. During his 20-year career at Chubb, he has assumed a variety of underwriting and management positions throughout North America and Asia. Most recently, he was the underwriting zone manager for Chubb Specialty Insurance in the northeast zone, a position he held since 1998.
He was the chair of the New England chapter of Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) from 2002-05. He serves as a board member
of the PLUS Foundation and is a Trustee of the Buckingham Browne and Nichols School.
Williams is a graduate of Harvard University where he received a Bachelor of Arts (History) in 1982. He has completed a number of training and development programs during his tenure at Chubb’s, including the Kellogg School of Management’s Executive Development program in Chicago and the Leadership program and the Center for Creative Leadership in San Diego.
Chubb Insurance Company of Canada has offices in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary and employs an exclusive network of more than 200 brokers across Canada.
