The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) has issued two separate warnings related to unlicensed insurance activity in the province.

The regulator first warned that an individual going by Frank Domalewski is not licensed to do insurance business in Ontario.

“This individual appears to have signed a fraudulent insurance policy for pieces of salon equipment. The individual also provided a phone number on the false policy, 905-266-1366, extension 0124,” FSCO said in a statement.

FSCO is also warning consumers that an organization known as Strategy Insurance Limited is not licensed to do insurance business. “This entity appears to have issued a fraudulent insurance policy to an individual against any amounts owed to the Canada Revenue Agency, following the individual’s donation to a charity,” FSCO said.

It added that consumers should exercise caution if they are contacted by anyone matching the descriptions in both cases.

FSCO’s website contains a list of all insurance companies and agents licensed to do business in Ontario. The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO)’s website contains a list of all brokers licensed to do business inOntario.
