Dave Partington has been named CEO of Gallagher’s Canadian retail property and casualty brokerage operations.

Gallagher is a global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm. Partington will lead the strategy and culture for continued growth across Canada, according to the Rolling Meadows, Ill.-based brokerage.

Gallagher has named Dave Partington CEO of Canadian brokerage operations.

Partington joined Gallagher in 2012, initially leading the regional offices of Gallagher Health in the United Kingdom. He relocated to the United States in 2014 as president of the small business practice for Gallagher’s retail P&C brokerage operations.

While in the U.S., Partington doubled the practice’s revenue, created a sales and service infrastructure, led and supported multiple mergers, and enhanced market relationships. Prior to joining Gallagher, he held leadership positions with two other large brokerages.

“Dave is an industry leader and, with the significant growth we have seen across Canada in the last few years, there is nobody better positioned than him to lead the Canadian retail P&C brokerage operations,” said Patrick M. Gallagher, chairman of Gallagher Canada, Caribbean and South America.

Partington said he is looking forward to his new role. “With a strong leadership team already in place, coupled with tremendous growth opportunities, it is a very exciting time for Gallagher in Canada.”

Gallagher has operations in 48 countries. It offers client-service capabilities in more than 150 countries around the world through a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
