Grain Insurance acquires Regina-based MGA

Grain Insurance and Guarantee Co. has acquired managing general agent (MGA) L E Yingst Co. Ltd. which is based in Regina, Saskatchewan. Although the terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, the deal takes effect from the beginning of next year, according to a statement released by Grain Insurance.
The MGA’s president Neil McGregor and other employees will continue to run the operation as a branch-office of Grain Insurance. “The chance to attain the qualified management and staff of this company is a tremendous opportunity for Grain Insurance to expand in Western Canada,” says the insurer’s president Ralph Jackson.
