Guy Carpenter & Company LLC, a global risk and reinsurance specialist, has appointed a new Head of Office and expanded its office capabilities and resources in the Bermuda reinsurance market.
It has been a landmark year for Guy Carpenter, as we have made an enormous investment in the Bermuda marketplace, said Kevin Fisher, the head of office for Guy Carpenter in Bermuda. We are steadily building a team of reinsurance professionals in order to better serve our local clients and positioning ourselves to transact even more business into the marketplace.
In 2006, Guy Carpenter, part of the Marsh & McLennan Companies, placed in excess of US$4 billion in premium volume with Bermuda-based companies.
Fisher has relocated from Guy Carpenters London office to assume the role of Head of Office in Bermuda. He has more than 25 years of experience in the global reinsurance industry, is deputy CEO of Guy Carpenter Limited and co-leads the UK broking platform with managing director Nick Frankland.
Guy Carpenter CEO David Spiller said of the moves: We are committed to investing our local capabilities and resources in order to accommodate the evolving nature of the reinsurance landscape. I have every confidence that Kevin and his team will continue to expand Guy Carpenters presence here in Bermuda.
Guy Carpenter has had a presence in Bermuda since the 1990s and formally established an office in 2000. In the past year, Guy Carpenter has tripled its staff in Bermuda, including specialists in the areas of property treaty, property retrocessional, casualty specialty and facultative reinsurance.
