Guy Carpenter representatives Krista Lienau and Sherry Thomas are scheduled to discuss the current and future landscapes of Canadian catastrophe risk and modeling at the Sept. 14 Friday Forum of the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR).

Lienau is a managing director responsible for catastrophe analytics projects for several key Guy Carpenter clients. She has spent more than 15 years specializing in catastrophe modeling and oversees all Canadian catastrophe modeling at Guy Carpenter.

Thomas is head of catastrophe management for the Americas at Guy Carpenter & Company. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she brings a varied perspective toward catastrophe models, having worked in the reinsurance industry using catastrophe models for the last 15 years.

Through the Friday Forum series, the ICLR seeks to strengthen the insurance community’s awareness of the risks associated with natural hazards.

The Sept. 14 forum will take place at the ICLR office on 20 Richmond Street East, Suite 210, Toronto (10:00 am to 11:30 am). The event will also be viewable live via webcast for those unable to attend in person.

Member companies can send two participants at no cost. The cost for non-members is $150.00 per person. There is no cost to view the webex webcast of the event.

RSVP: Tracy Waddington (twaddington@iclr.org)
