A home and auto insurance comparison website has launched in Alberta after reported success in Ontario.

InsuranceHunter.ca provides three “competitive quotes in three minutes,” using its own comparison technology, according to a statement from the site. After choosing a quote, users get a personal call from a “qualified insurance hunter,” meaning a licensed insurance broker, to provide advice on what coverage would best suit them.

Those brokers are “…completely unbiased as they help customers choose the right coverage for their needs from a wide panel comprising some of Alberta’s largest insurance companies,” the company says.

The website launched in Ontario earlier this year, where it says 70% of customers have reported savings of up to $400 on their annual premium. On average, customers save about $200, based on the same customer survey of about 260 customers from May 2012, it claims.

The site also says that personal information provided to get the online quotes, such as driver or vehicle information, remains confidential and isn’t sold to other companies.
