The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) was honoured with the Partner in Safety Award by the Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving (OSAID) for financial contributions and support lent to the organization over the years.
The association received the award for its continued support of OSAID activities throughout the years, with a $19,000 donation made this year to go towards subsidizing OSAIDs conference, regional meetings, as well as scholarships.
In addition to its annual monetary pledge, IBAO funded a $9,000 project that will help OSAID to produce create, direct and act in television commercials to spread its message.
The commercials will air on CTV.
Jessica Fletcher, presisident of the OSAID City Chapter of Sault Ste. Marie said, frankly, this project would not have been possible without the help of the insurance brokers, and so we are extremely grateful.
Randy Carroll, IBAOs CEO, accepted the award at OSAIDs 20th Annual Conference held at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ont.
Insurance brokers are community people, said Carroll, and keeping our kids safe is a cause thats very close to our hearts. Thats why we want to help OSAID get the message across to our teens about driving safely and thinking ahead.
