Rick Berg, Canadian business manager for 3M’s automotive aftermarket division, has passed away at the age of 47.
In a statement, the Canadian Collision Industry Forum (CCIF) described Berg as “always willing to volunteer, always keen to support the industry from which he earned his living.”
“So sad and unfair that Rick should leave this world with so much still to do,” the CCIF’s statement says. “He will be sorely missed by all his friends at CCIF, but we’ll always remember his friendship and the difference he made.”
Berg was born in Lloydminster, Sask. on Dec. 23, 1962.
In 1969, his family moved to Paynton, Sask., where they owned and operated an Esso Station.
Berg left the family business, graduated from University of Saskatchewan and went on to pursue his love of the automotive aftermarket industry through a 23-year career with 3M Canada.
A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2010 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 472 Richmond St. (corner of Richmond St. & Queen’s Ave.) in London, Ont. at 1 p.m.
Expressions of remembrance can be made to the Epilepsy Canada National Office or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario. Online condolences can be expressed at www.loganfh.ca.
