Aeroplan (TSX:AER.UN) and ING Canada Inc. (TSX:IIC.LV) have agreed to offer Aeroplan members the opportunity to earn Aeroplan Miles on certain insurance products offered by ING Canada’s insurance subsidiaries.
Aeroplan members will be able to take advantage of this new partnership starting in September 2006. Full details of the member offer will be announced when the initiative is formally launched.
“This is the latest example of our commitment to offer even more value to our 3.5 million clients and our network of more than 2,800 independent brokerages across the country,” Alister Campbell, ING Canada’s senior vice president of marketing and communications, said. “As the leading provider of property and casualty insurance in Canada, we are constantly seeking innovative ways to earn our clients’ business and to differentiate ourselves in a highly competitive marketplace.
“The unique strategic advantages of this agreement will allow us to build on our success and solidify our market leadership position.”
Aeroplan president and CEO Rupert Duchesne said: “ING Canada, an integral new partner in one of Aeroplan’s key growth sectors, represents the clear and positive progress Aeroplan has made to execute its stated strategy of adding well-known, respected brands to the Aeroplan partner network. Partnering with a leader in home and auto insurance ensures that the majority of our members can easily accumulate Aeroplan Miles on an important household purchase.”
