The third annual ‘Insurance Challenge,’ a bike ride to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, will take place in Toronto on Oct. 1.
Hosting more than 7,400 participants from various financial sectors, the Ride for Diabetes Research will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The ‘Insurance Challenge’ is just one of many financial industry sector challenges at the event; last year, the insurance sector alone raised $127,000.
Past years have featured dedicated support from almost all of Toronto’s major insurance carriers, including Intact Insurance, Aviva Canada, the Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company of Canada (BI&I) and The Dominion.
The ride as a whole raised $2.7 million last year and is aiming for a $2.75 million in 2010.
