Keal Technology announced Thursday that CSIO XML eDocs are now available for Aviva Canada broker partners using the tech firm’s broker management system.

eDocs now available for Aviva brokers

Brokerages using sigXP can now automate the  retrieval and download of personal lines electronic declaration pages, Keal said.

The eDocs process uses data standards from the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO). The process is transmitted over the CSIOnet Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), but an XML message can be attached to the transmission, Keal noted.

The CSIOnet EDI process uses nightly batch downloads to update specific data fields in the BMS from an insurance company.

“With the launch of the CSIO eDocs standard, many brokers have reported substantial efficiency and customer service improvements,”  CSIO president Catherine Smola noted.

The Aviva implementation automatically attaches a digital copy (in pdf or tif format) of the broker copy of declaration pages directly to the insured’s file in sigXP, according to Keal.

The system then automatically creates a historical record of each eDoc transaction for brokers to search, report or audit against.

That means brokers don’t need to gather policy documents from a carrier website or receive physical paper from an insurance company, Keal noted.

“Adding Aviva Canada to Keal’s list of carriers offering eDocs is significant for our mutual broker partners,” Keal’s president Paul Durepos said in a release.

“Keal’s eDocs process is saving brokers hours each day by replacing manual workflows with a hands-free process that automatically attaches each eDoc to the client file in sigXP,” he added.
