Kingsway Financial announces two appointments

Kingsway Financial Services Inc. has announced the appointments of Serge Lavoie to president and chief executive officer of Jevco Insurance Company and Colin Simpson to the position of president and chief executive officer of York Fire & Casualty Insurance Company.
I am pleased to announce the appointments of Serge and Colin to their new positions within the organization, Bill Star, president and CEO, said in a release. Their appointments are well deserved and reflect the positive contributions they have made to improving the operations and profitability of their companies.
Lavoie joined Jevco 10 years ago and has over 22 years experience in the insurance industry.
Most recently Lavoie was the vice president and general manager, but has held a number of senior management roles since joining Jevco as claims manager.
Lavoie was active in the Quebec chapter of the Canadian Claims Manager Association and previously held the positions of both president and secretary.
Simpson joined York Fire three years ago as the vice President and chief financial officer; he has spent the last seven years working within the Canadian Insurance Industry.
Simpson held a number of senior management roles at a global insurance company in both Canada and the United Kingdom before joining York Fire.
