McLarens Canada dispatched its catastrophe adjustment team to St. Lucia to respond to the damage caused by Hurricane Tomas.
The Category One hurricane hit the Caribbean Island on the weekend of Oct. 30, killing 14 people and causing widespread destruction that is expected to surpass US$100 million, a McLarens release says.
“McLarens Canada’s CAT Team will arrive in St. Lucia tomorrow and will literally hit the ground running,” said Michael Holden, McLarens Canada’s president and CEO. “Our CAT Team has extensive experience in providing emergency response service to areas devastated by hurricanes,” he added.
On Nov. 5, the storm was churning towards Haiti, as a Category 1, according to the National Hurricane Center.
