R&Q Risk Services Canada Limited is the newest managing general agent to enter the Canadian marketplace.
R&Q Risk Services is owned by Randall & Quilter Investment Holdings Plc, a publicly listed non-life insurance investor, service provider and underwriting manager.
Lloyd’s Syndicates will back all issued policies.
R&Q Risk Services Canada will initially write professional liability and management liability products, including companion commercial general liability. It is being licensed to underwrite in all Canadian provinces and territories and will only operate through licensed Canadian brokers.
There will be no minimum premium volume level requirement for any brokerage, an R&Q release says.
“We are delighted to open our Canadian MGA,” said Tim Riddell, head of delegated underwriting at R&Q. “The team is being led by Scott Saddington, and his enviable track-record and market contacts have been well supported by the London market.
“Further opportunities to form and acquire delegated underwriting businesses are currently being examined and we continue to seek out the best underwriting talent to further enhance our capabilities in this sector.”
