Resolve Corporation, a Mississauga-based business processing outsourcing firm, and Health Claims for Auto Insurance (HCAI) Processing have entered into a three-year partnership that will see Resolve manage the transcription of paper forms for Ontarios new electronic system for processing auto insurance health claims.
Ontario government regulations will require the provinces health care facilities to submit certain key forms to auto insurers including invoices for health care services through HCAI as of Feb. 1, 2008. Insurers will be required to use HCAI to review and approve the forms.
The system is designed for direct on-line submission and approval. Nevertheless, Resolve is offering its transcription service to make HCAI accessible to facilities without Internet capabilities.
Led by the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC), and developed in collaboration with other stakeholders, HCAI is designed to improve the collection of auto insurance health claims.
The new system requires all auto insurance health claims to be submitted through a Central Processing Agency (HCAI).
The contract has an initial three-year term and multiple, one-year renewals. It includes the data entry of claim forms, imaging, call center, detailed reporting to the insurance carriers and the fulfillment of provider/facility welcome kits.
