The Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO), a self-regulating body for the province’s brokers, will be preparing best practices for its membership to help brokers understand their obligations toward clients with respect to the auto reforms.
In its spring bulletin, RIBO also encouraged members to participate in the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO)’s province-wide ‘road show.’ The IBAO will host more than 50 ‘road show’ events to educate brokers about the amended auto insurance regulations.
“Brokers’ strength is hands-on service so we expect the vast majority of you will embrace this new challenge and seize the opportunity to strengthen your client relationships,” said Al Chamney, RIBO’s president.
“That said, there will be some tough navigating ahead for the membership as these reforms are rolled in. RIBO will do all it can to provide you with the information and direction to ease the transition to the new automobile regime.”
