Hub International has announced that H. Ross Totten, who has served as president and CEO of Totten Insurance Group Inc., will assume the role of chairman and chief sales officer of the Totten Group, effective Sept. 1, 2012.

Heather Masterson will move from Hub HKMB Ontario to become president and CEO of Totten Insurance Group Inc./Groupe Gestionnaire D’Assurances Totten Ltée, also effective Sept. 1.

Totten has been president and CEO of Totten Insurance Group Inc./Groupe Gestionnaire D’Assurances Totten Ltée since its founding in October 2002. In his new role, he will focus on business development, both through organic growth internally with the development of new products and programs, as well as through external acquisitions.

Masterson is currently responsible for managing insurance company relationships, and maintaining presence in the Worldwide Broker Network (WBN). She has spent a number of years at AIG in various roles, including underwriting, sales and marketing, and has established and run the Canadian operations for AIG WorldSource.

Masterson started her career as a retail broker in the family brokerage; while there, she set up and managed the commercial division of Newfoundland’s Colonial Fire and General Insurance Company. She continued on the company side of the business after completing the Continental Insurance Company training program, both in Canada and the United States.
