The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations will update its CSIOnet virtual private network (VPN) gateway to version 7.1, which will go live on Oct. 11.
CSIO has worked with carriers and broker management system (BMS) vendors to test the latest version and those partners have approved the upgrade to the EDI communications tool, it said in a statement.
CSIO worked in part with Telus, which maintains CSIOnet, to make the improvements that address common user problems, such as browsers crashing.
The newer version includes improved security and connectivity stability to better protect users from potential problems from unplanned network outages, according to CSIO. The upgraded version will also have improved browser support and improved Mac support, it said.
With the maintenance schedule, users can expect the following:
Oct. 10- Users will observe a scheduled maintenance outage of CSIOnet between 9pm to 11:59pm EST.
Oct. 11- Users’ EDI coordinators will be prompted to perform a few simple steps when logging into their CSIOnet account.
If users encounter issues after the upgrade, they should contact their BMS provider or CSIO helpdesk at 1-800-463-CSIO(2746).
