Insurance Systems Inc. (ISI), a provider of web-based solutions to the global property and casualty insurance industry, today announced the sale of WebWriter Inspection to The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
“Wawanesa is one of Canada’s leading insurers,” ISI President and CEO Terry Neilson says. “This sale is a strong endorsement of our vision that insurance writers and mobile insurance workers can both benefit from Web-based technologies and automation.”
WebWriter Inspection streamlines the field inspection process. It allows mobile inspectors to collect information electronically, including assessment data, recommendations, digital photos and diagrams. Data is then uploaded into a central database, which allows underwriters to process the information via the Web.
The central data repository offers data mining and reporting capabilities that have traditionally been unavailable in a paper-based environment.
Wawanesa will be using the system for loss control and inspection management throughout Canada and in their San Diego, California office to conduct loss control inspections on both commercial and personal lines risks.
“By improving communication with our inspectors in the field, we will be able to offer our policyholders better, faster service,” says John Bjornson, vice president of marketing and property underwriting for Wawanesa.
“Since we are a mutual insurer, our policyholders will also benefit from the efficiencies and cost savings that we plan to achieve by implementing WebWriter Inspection.”
ISI was founded in 1997 to design and build leading-edge software solutions for property and casualty insurers. The company is headquartered in Toronto, ON, with branch offices in Montreal, PQ.
