Co-operators senior executive to retire

The Co-operators announced Thursday the retirement of Bruce West, its executive vice president, finance and chief financial officer (CFO), effective June 1, 2018.

West joined The Co-operators in 2007 as CFO and over the past 11 years has made significant contributions, including the implementation of the organization’s approach to sustainable investing.

“Under Bruce’s guidance, we recognized substantial increases in the sophistication and efficiency in areas such as enterprise risk, portfolio and capital management, as well as staff development and succession planning,” said Rob Wesseling, president and CEO of The Co-operators, in the release. “I’m confident we’ll continue to reap the benefits of his leadership for years to come.”

 

Delphine Clerc joins Vericlaim Canada and Sedgwick Canada

Sedgwick and its subsidiary Vericlaim, a global loss and claims adjuster, has announced the appointment of Delphine Clerc to vice president of business development for both Vericlaim Canada and Sedgwick Canada.

Clerc brings nearly two decades of experience in account management and sales to the two companies. She will manage strategic sales and customer relationship activities for all lines of business. Her focus will be on the implementation of new business and growing markets for Sedgwick and Vericlaim across all provinces.

Clerc has a background as a business owner, an expert in translation services and a former representative for auto, property, marine, general liability and casualty claims. In the past, she specialized in captive claims, truckers’ liability, product liability, medical malpractice, marine survey, residential property, environmental, heavy equipment, tractors/trailers, auto physical damage and flood.

 

Industry veteran takes helm of On Side Restoration’s new office

On Side Restoration said this week that industry veteran Crystal Graveson will be taking the helm as branch manager of their new office opening in Barrie, Ont. in March.

Graveson is formally trained in project management and has over 21 years of industry experience. She is also now accepting resumes for experienced project managers, project management assistants, operations personnel and general labour roles.

Jay Kielt, the restoration company’s regional manager of the Ontario and Atlantic Canada regions, said in a statement that the next step for On Side is to secure more work in Barrie, the Orillia region, and into cottage country. “Ms. Graveson comes to us with in-depth insurance restoration experience and strong industry relationships,” Kielt said. “We couldn’t ask for a better match as we start to permeate this niche area.”
