The Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO) intends to host more than 50 road show events to educate brokers about the amended automobile insurance regulations.
“We are very pleased with the amendments,” stated IBAO CEO Randy Carroll. “Ontario brokers are committed to informing and protecting their consumers.
“IBAO is also dedicated to the broker community and we are thrilled to announce the road show education events as a way to connect with local brokers and inform them of all the modifications.”
The road show will begin in April and focus on the proposed reforms, as well as the impact of the reforms on brokers’ best practices and legal and professional obligations.
The IBAO will also preview some of the tools the association will be developing for members to use when informing their customers.

Aviva Canada and Hagerty Insurance Agency now offer collector vehicle insurance in Ontario, in addition to Alberta and British Columbia.
The two companies partnered in June of 2009.
Aviva Canada (through Elite Insurance) will underwrite Hagerty Insurance in Canada and assist in distribution via their broker network.
Hagerty will provide service, call centre operations and marketing support.
The membership-based, Hagerty Plus program includes benefits such as flatbed towing and roadside assistance, regulatory advocacy, youth programs and support of the Collectors Foundation.
The programs include the agreed value of the insurance policy, a single liability fee, flexible usage with no mileage restrictions and the ability to pick one’s own repair shop in the event of a claim.
