Intact Insurance is congratulating the winners of the 37th annual Canadian Sport Awards, which honour athletic excellence and leadership.
The company was a premier sponsor of Speed Skating Canada, and is sending additional congratulations to members of the national team.
Christine Nesbitt, who won gold in Vancouver, has been named the female athlete of the year.
Marianne St-Gelais, silver medal winner, was named junior athlete of the year.
Partners of the year went to the world record-setting women’s team pursuit speed skating team of Nesbitt, Kristina Groves and Brittany Schussler.
Intact Insurance was presented with the Corporate Excellence Award in recognition of the company’s ongoing commitment to speed skating in Canada.
The Corporate Excellence Award goes to a company that provides outstanding support to amateur Canadian sports.

Four executives from Crawford & Company attained the designation of Chartered Insurance Operations Professional (CIOP),
The designation is awarded by the CIOP Institute after completion of rigorous course work and exam projects.
The designees are:
• Greg Smith, vice president of National Programs for Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc.
* Brenda Rarick, senior vice president and managing director of Risk Sciences Group (RSG).
• Robert M. Simpson, vice president of Crawford’s U.S. Property & Casualty’s Central Region.
• Kenneth R. Tolson, vice president of U.S. Property & Casualty’s Eastern Region.
