The board of directors of Transatlantic Reinsurance Company, a subsidiary of Transatlantic Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: TRH), recently elected four new officers.
Timothy O’Connor will become the vice president in Chicago, John Byrne will become the assistant vice president in Sydney, Samson Chiu will become the assistant vice president in Hong Kong, Mark Jackaman will become the assistant vice president in London and Daniel Boisvert will become the secretary in New York.

Wells Fargo & Company’s (NYSE: WFC ) recently named eight national environmental experts from industry, academia and non-profits to its new Environmental Advisory Board. The eight new members include: Suzanne Apple (vice president for business and industry, World Wildlife Fund) who offers 12 years in forestry and community relations; Forescee Hogan-Rowles (president, CEO, Community Financial ResourceCenter (CFRC)) who manages financial service provider targeting business owners and residents of low-income communities in Los Angeles County and additionally serves as Commissioner of the Department of Water & Power; Board of Directors for Opportunity Networ; David Hudnall (corporate forestry resources environmental manager – USA, Canada & Chile, Louisiana Pacific Corporation, Nashville, Tenn) who offers almost 30 years experience in the forestry industry; Dr. Charles Kennel (director, vice chancellor and dean of Marine Sciences, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California), who has been a member of the National Academy of Sciences since 1991 and served on the Pew Oceans Commission, and the NASA Advisory Council; Randall R. LaBauve (vice president, environmental services, Florida Power & Light Company (FPL)) who offers nearly 20 years in environmental law and management and leads FPL Group’s environmental strategy, licensing, compliance and environmental relations; Jean Pogge (executive vice president, ShoreBank)who offers 25 years in management and is the executive of the country’s first community development and environmental bank; Bettina von Hagen (vice president, Ecotrust) who is head of forestry programs for the Natural Capital Fund, investing in conservation businesses and initiatives; and, Stuart Patrick Woolf (president, CEO, Woolf Enterprises) who offers 25 years experience in agriculture and is a family-owned producer and processor of agricultural commodities. John Stumpf, Wells Fargo’s president and chief operating officer says the group of environmental experts will be the Company’s “eyes and ears in industry, academia and non-governmental organizations to make sure we anticipate emerging environmental issues in our communities and globally.” Members were selected for their demonstrated experience, expertise, insight, and leadership in environmental and community affairs. The Board is part of the Company’s 10-point commitment to more effectively integrate environmental responsibility into its business practices and procedures.
