Bateman Chapman, Canada has acquired Toronto-based MGI Loss Adjusters Inc.
“MGI brings to Bateman Chapman a group of experienced loss adjusters specializing in the areas of commercial/industrial claims including major mining, course of construction, liability, energy and utility losses in Canada and the U.S.,” Bateman Chapman announced in a public statement.
“This expansion places Bateman Chapman in the important Toronto market and, combined with our other Canadian offices in Calgary, Halifax and St. John’s, will enable the company to provide enhanced coverage to serve our clients and offer a strategic stepping stone for future Canadian expansion.”
The Bateman Chapman Group, part of the Charles Taylor Group of Companies, is an established firm of international loss adjusters with offices serving global insurance markets. Bateman Chapman serves the insurance industry in the adjustment of energy, mining, construction, marine, engineering and commercial related claims.

Travel Underwriters has expanded its B.C. development team with the addition of Calvin Ball, business development manager for the company’s Western Canada region, and Zareen Alimohamed, the regional account manager for the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley Region.
Ball brings to his position more than 15 years of consulting experience in the insurance and financial industries. He is responsible for developing new broker relationships and identifying business opportunities for Travel Underwriters.
Zareen has more than 18 years of insurance industry experience, with a background in sales management and client relations. Prior to joining Travel Underwriters, she was a regional manager with a major credit union in B.C. and managed their insurance sales operation across the Lower Mainland.
Travel Underwriters, a member of TU Group, is a specialty insurance provider offering programs and services for the travel, home and health care markets.
