This holiday season, more than 1,600 volunteers across New Brunswick participated in Operation Red Nose and ensured more than 1,900 revelers a safe ride home.
“Operation Red Nose makes New Brunswick’s road safer during the holiday season,” said Don Forgeron, vice-president, Atlantic, Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC).
“And this excellent service would not be possible without the individuals who generously gave their time.”
The New Brunswick volunteers included many employees from the insurance industry, who are often witness to the reality of drinking and driving.
Operation Red Nose is a free designated-driver service, but donations are accepted from clients. Nationally, over $1.3 million dollars was raised for charities this year.
