Gore Mutual Insurance Company, along with its broker partners and business associates and the Canadian Blood Services (CBS), hosted their first clinic day in the BC/Yukon region. Twenty-one units of blood were donated as a result, and every unit of blood has the potential to assist up to 3 people in need. What really added to the exceptional nature of the event is that 55% of the donors that participated were first-time donors, which is a step towards fulfilling the on-going need at Canadian Blood Services to increase the blood donor base here in Vancouver, Jennifer Gerves-Keen, community development coordinator for CBS, said in a statement.

Royal & SunAlliance has sourced MTS Allstream to design, build, deploy and manage an MPLS (multiprotocol label switching) network. The technology will be designed to simplify and streamline the management of advanced IP-based networks. The deployment of the MPLS infrastructure creates a networking foundation for Royal & SunAlliance to cost-effectively migrate to IP telephony and IP trunking solutions in the future, further improving capabilities provided to users while reducing costs and maintaining reliability, says an MPLS press release.
